live love
I was solving microeconomics problem set and suddenly started writing on a piece of paper. May seem random but wanted to keep it for future reference and laugh at it when I get older.

I think the society we live in now fools us to believe that having much more wealth than necessary and aiming for such success is the best way to live (whether we achieve it or not). That thought has been the basis and the force supporting the growth of materialistic/capitalistic society of Western Europe and the United States. This thought later influenced other countries in the East, namely Japan and Korea.
While many students learn accounting and finance to figure out how money flows, I turn my eyes back to countries, which are still at the starting line of growth. Many of these countries are in Africa. Plenty of people are paying attention to China and India and expecting the economic growth in those countries to surpass that of the United States. So I think China can do without me. I'd rather study, research, and discover ways to help Africa to decrease their high fertility rate and reach a better standard of living.
I believe everyone has a different way of life, and mine is not to earn much money for myself but find a way to direct some money toward poor countries. I want to continue to study after college, but I'll probably have to earn money for graduate school beforehand.
