live love
2008 summer break is not what i expected it to be but it's not that bad

of the three areas of study that i was considering, i've ruled out sustainable development. i think the concept itself is admirable but too broad. i think it would be better to focus on a specific field that's pertinent to sustainable development.

one issue i have with sustainable development is that it assumes people will be happy and well only if they are still undergoing development. i guess people find motivation by aspring for progress and nowdays progress seems to be equated to development.

my view on sustainable development is to have humans live in harmony with nature and respect the ecosystem services that nature provides. in addition, humans of the present generation should use intertemporal decision making so that they consider the well-being of the future generation. is that too much to ask in this materalistic world?

the concerns and problems that people in their 20s think about may seem trivial when they grow old. but for right now, so many things simultaneously make my life troublesome and exciting.  how i can be of help in this world, country, and people that i love. family. friendship. love. faith.

living in the 21st century entails difficulties that vary from living in previous centuries, but i say it's still worth living because life is wonderful.
