드디어 기말고사가 끝이났다ㅠ
여긴 무슨 기말고사가 과목마다 3시간씩인데 금요일에 한개 월요일, 화요일에 2개씩 있어서 답 작성하느라 손가락이 너무 수고했다. 잠을 못자서 쉬지 못한 내 눈과 뇌에게도 미안. 흑. 저녁마다 마셔대는 스타벅스 에스프레소도 참아준 위에게도 미안. 그리고 졸리다고 하면 힘내라는 문자와 배고프다고 하면 야참같이 먹어준 jy에게도 고마워 :)
아 정말, 2학년 1학기가 정말 순식간에 지나갔다.
Contemporary Civilization은 사실 별로 재미없을 줄 알았는데 선생님을 잘 만나서 To be a Human, To be a Human Living in a State, Knowing, Doubting 이러한 주제로 이러한 text를 읽었다.
많이도 읽었구나; anthropology ph d student라서 그런지 civilization의 생성과 관련해서 재미있게 가르쳐 주셔서 다음 학기에도 이 선생님한테 듣기 위해 다른 수업을 옮겼다. 중동 철학가들의 글은 처음 읽는 거라서 신기하기도 했다. 서양철학에는 왜이렇게 God 신에 대한 얘기가 많은지. 아무튼 2학기에는 좀 더 최근에 쓰여진 글을 읽으니 더 재미있을 것 같다. 철학은 나랑 잘 안맞아.
통계는 쉬울줄 알았는데 (AP도 옛날옛적에 한번 봤으니) 선생님이 답답해서 좀 힘들었지만 열심히 했다. 근데 혼자서 다시 한번 훝어봐야 될듯. 진도를 다 못나간 선생님. 흠.
환경생물학은 생각했던 것 보다 너무 생물이기만 하고 환경생물이 아니라서 속상했는데 2학기에는 달라진다고 한다. 이젠 기본이 쌓였으니 적용도 하고 자연사박물관에도 자주 가야 될 것이고 매주마다 lab도 있다. 아직 잘 피하고 lab한 번도 안 들었는데 올 것이 왔구나. 다음 학기에 보자.
macroeconomics는 교과서가 없어서 노트필기가 아주 중요했다. 선생님이 귀엽다고 해야 되는 건지 좀 특이하다고 해야 되는 건지. 바르셀로나 축구 클럽 acting president도 했다고 자랑 진짜 많이 하는 것 같던데 싸이트도 특이하다. www.columbia.edu/~xs23 그래도 요점 딱딱 잘 말해주고 200명이 넘는 수업인데 학생들이 모두 집중하게 하는 카리스마도 있었다.
동아시아 수업은 많이 기대 안했는데 동아시아 역사를 이해하기 위해서는 한국도 중요시 여기는 드 배리 할아버지 교수 덕분에 그리고 같이 가르쳐 주신 한국교포 교수 선생님 때문에 재미있게 들을 수 있었다. 처음으로 공자, 맹자가 쓴 글들을 읽을 수 있었고, 일본 역사에 대해서 조금은 알게 되었고, 외국에서는 한국을 어떻게 바라보는 지도 알 수 있었서 뜻깊은 수업이었다. 다른 학교에서는 한국사를 동아시아 역사를 거론할 때 뺴는 경우도 있고 중요시 여기지 않는다고 하는데 그러면 안되잖아. 어차피 동아시아 국가 3개 뿐인데 다 공부해야지.
이렇게 수업도 시험도 모두 끝나고 난 이제 드디어 쉴 수 있게 되었다.
이번 겨울 한국에 조금 늦게 들어가게 되었지만 그동안 뭘 하고 싶은지 생각해봐야겠어ㅋㅋ
링컨센터에서 new york city ballet에서 하는 nutcracker을 보고 handel's messiah도 들으러 가게 되었다.

i'm in the library. i finally secured one of my favorite seats in the library. i'll be here until Tuesday.
friday's test went well. my dad's friend invited me over for dinner so i had sooo much korean food. homemade korean food is the best!
anway, i slept early yesterday but woke up early today to study environmental biology and east asian civlization. i've gone to the post office to mail cards to my family and hifap angels since i won't be able to see them for christmas this year. the line was soooooo long so i waited for 30 minutes!
then, i had a bio study group with two lovely ladies and now i'm in the library.
studying is fine but i have a bad stomachache, which often happens when i have too much work.
heuk heuk. i can't wait to go home!

말이 씨가 된다고.. "defer되면 잠깐 긴장하게 해주셨다가 마지막엔 붙여주실꺼야"라고 말했는데. 너무 안타깝지만 4월까지 더 기다려봐야한다. 아, 더 열심히 기도해야겠다.
